Having a voice can sound like city council, parties or adult meetings. For teens in Salzburg City, the first routes can be simpler: a workshop (a short hands-on course), a youth-radio show, a city contact point or a youth-information service.

It separates Jugend Blitzlicht, YourVoice and the Youth Office. All three are about voice, opinion and the city. They fit different situations.

Direct answer: which route fits what?

  • Jugend Blitzlicht: fits when young people aged 12 to 15 want a guided workshop about democracy and city offers.
  • YourVoice: fits when young people aged 14 to 20 want to try radio, youth topics in Salzburg and media work.
  • Youth Office: fits when you need an official Salzburg City contact point for youth questions, projects or orientation.
  • akzente Youth Info: fits when youth information, advice or a neutral overview matters more than a city project.

The key official and primary sources were checked again on 11 June 2026.

Jugend Blitzlicht: participation in a city workshop

The City of Salzburg lists Jugend Blitzlicht as a workshop at TriBühne Lehen, Tulpenstraße 1. The page names the next date as 25 June 2026, 09:00 to 12:00, with further dates on 29 June 2026 and 30 June 2026.

The role matters. Young people are invited to say what works, what is missing and what they need around democracy and city offers. The target group is 12 to 15 years, the workshops (short hands-on courses) are free and the cooperation runs with akzente Salzburg.

The City’s press release from 17 April 2026 gives the wider frame: in the last two school weeks, the city offers free workshops around dialogue, media literacy, self-assertion and social responsibility. Jugend Blitzlicht is meant to collect views and ideas; together with akzente Salzburg, this should feed into a youth report.

For 10- to 15-year-olds, this means: Jugend Blitzlicht is a participation format with date and group. If you simply need a place to arrive, IGLU, JUKI, KOMM, Yoco or SÜDPOL are more direct.

YourVoice: youth radio with its own media logic

YourVoice at Radiofabrik describes itself as youth radio. The page names young people between 14 and 20 who can take part in the Radiofabrik studio. It describes topics that interest, move or annoy Salzburg youth and links the route to the everyday work of the StreuSalz team.

For SalzburgTeen this is a strong participation route with a clear boundary: radio work means collecting topics, speaking, recording, listening and publishing. That is more active than leaving an opinion somewhere.

The page also says that YourVoice is a project by Kinderfreunde Salzburg and airs every second and fourth Sunday from 16:00. SalzburgTeen does not turn that into a participation promise. Check the current contact route, age fit, trusted support and way home on the official page.

Youth Office: the city contact point for youth questions

The Youth Office of the City of Salzburg is at Mirabellplatz 4 and lists jugendbuero@stadt-salzburg.at. The city describes the youth department as part of Team Vielfalt, responsible among other things for open spaces, leisure spaces, youth culture, projects, events, advice and cooperation with partner organizations.

The Youth Office is the official city route for orientation, projects and youth questions. Party youth and youth centres use other routes. If you need to decide whether the Youth Office or akzente is the better first step, read Youth Office or akzente in Salzburg.

District logic: Lehen, Mirabellplatz and districts

Lehen

Jugend Blitzlicht names TriBühne Lehen. Here, TriBühne is the workshop location. The date, group and signup have to fit first.

Neustadt and Mirabellplatz

The Youth Office sits at Mirabellplatz. It carries orientation and project logic; open youth places fit drop-in needs better.

Itzling, Schallmoos, Parsch, Gnigl and Salzburg South

This is where Streusalz matters. The city describes Streusalz as mobile youth work for ages 13 to 21 in several districts. YourVoice is linked as the youth-radio route. If you want to connect inside a district, read Streusalz mobile youth work in Salzburg City.

Parent check: four questions before the first step

  1. Is the real need city opinion, media/radio or general orientation?
  2. Does the age fit: 12 to 15 for Jugend Blitzlicht, 14 to 20 for YourVoice?
  3. Is there a date, place, signup, group and way home?
  4. Does it need a school, group, trusted adult or direct contact first?

If one answer is open, check the source first.

When another route is better

Local proof

The 2026 source base is solid because the sources prove different roles:

  • City of Salzburg: Jugend Blitzlicht with dates, Lehen location, target age 12 to 15 and free workshop logic.
  • City of Salzburg: 17 April 2026 press release with youth participation, akzente cooperation and a planned youth report.
  • City of Salzburg: Youth Office with Mirabellplatz 4, youth officer, open spaces, youth culture and project logic.
  • Radiofabrik: YourVoice as youth radio with StreuSalz-team link and 14-to-20 age frame.

Bottom line

Having a voice in Salzburg City gets easier when you keep the roles separate. Jugend Blitzlicht is the workshop route. YourVoice is the media route. The Youth Office is the city route. Once that is clear, the first step is much easier to choose.
